While the qualitative studies are used to determine why the consumers act the way they do, quantitative research is used to determine how many are acting like this. You can anticipate and evaluate the result of your decistions: 
brand awareness (prompted and not prompted)
level of satisfaction with your brand and competitor brands
profile of consumption behaviour:

  1. how much they buy/use
  2. brands used / bought
  3. place of consumption
  4. place of purchasing
  5. average price
  6. reasons for choosing a certain brand
  7. assessment of unmet needs and niches 
  8. product testing and packaging testing 
  9. ssessment of optimal price level

Quantitative research is conducted using different methodologies:

  • face-to-face interviews
  • interviews at home
  • phone interviews
  • fax/email interviews
